This film follows a summer in the life of children living with little parental guidance in a budget motel in the shadows of Walt Disney World. In particular is 6 year old Moonee and her rebellious yet caring mother Halley, and the daily struggles faced by those stuck in a vicious cycle of poverty. Yet we see joy and excitement through the eyes of the children despite their gritty circumstances. No judgment or preachiness comes off however, these are just people living their lives as best as they are able. Great performances, well edited, colorful and humorous. What is not to like?
