Amber said on 2022-01-01: This film follows the lives of five people spanning three generations living during 1979 in Santa Barbara, California. Annette Bening plays Dorothea, a divorced woman in her mid 50s raising her teenage son, a solid performance by Lucas Jade Zumann, without male role models. The other main characters (Elle Fanning, Greta Gerwig and Billy Crudup) are equally compelling and each brings their own unique contribution and impact to the film. I love the music and the film techniques deployed in this movie. The embedded history lessons are a fascinating fit!
